In the name of all that's HOLY!

Dear Lord.....please....just shoot me now...

"William Shatner has recorded a new album featuring a guest appearance by US punk legend Henry Rollins.

Shatner, who played Captain James T Kirk in the original TV series of Star Trek, has also enlisted Joe Jackson and US country star Brad Paisley to guest on the album.

The album will be produced by Ben Folds, leader of the Ben Folds Five, reports the New York Post.

Shatner is generally acknowledged as having recorded the worst ever version of a Beatles' song.

He released his spoken word cover of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds in 1968."

...dammit...it's TRUE....HERE is a link to the story...I'd give someone a dollar to assasinate TALK to Shatner before he can complete this heinous crime....Cap'n Kirk....we just CANNAE take much MOOOOOOORE!!

Oh, and honey, didn't you hear that SPOCK (Leonard Nimoy) does a few numbers with Shatner on this album, too? Lord. Have. Mercy!

"I cannae gi' ye more, Cap'n. The cat ate th' dilithium crystals, and She's gang ta BLOOOOOOOOW!"

I might download it, just for giggles...

I went and saw Henry Rollin's spoken word in Ames about a month ago and he mentioned that... A. I had forgotten about it, and B. I really thought that he was yanking our chain. I didn't know that he was serious.

Either way it has to be better than Pat Boone singing Stairway to Heaven a couple of years ago...

I heard his rendition of "Mr. Tambourine Man." I know that "almost pissing one's self laughing," is a commonly used phrase to describe something funny, however, I damned near really pissed myself laughing at Shatner's rendition. It ends with his voice calling out, "Mister Tambourine Man....(pregnant pause)...MISTER TAMBOURINE ...MAN!!"

And people thought that he limited himself to piss-poor acting.

Jack: I'm with you 100%...we need to begin organizing an abduction team...

Kelley: Babe, if you download it, you'll only reinforce his idea that he can sing..for the LOVE OF GOD, WOMAN!!...be afraid...be VERY afraid...;)

Gooseneck: I'd choose Boone over Shatner all day long and TWICE on Sunday...Shatner's singing is even worse than MINE! I like Rollins, but if he does an album with Cap'n Kirk, I fear his career may never recover...

James: I feel your pain, Brother..you probably should be seeking some kind of psychotherapy for having been tortured in such a way...and, a lawsuit against the maker of the jukebox in question probably needs to be taken to court...IMHO...:)

I'm no Shatner fan, but if someone has to be beheaded, it's Rollins. He creeps me the fuck out. Personal opinion.

Wow. The mind boggles with the myriad of reasons that Hank Rollins would have for taking that gig. There are just too many possibilities.
