Because I'm In the Mood..

...I've read this many times... and, I just wanted to share a bit tonight... Byron is da Man, folks... and, I've always had a thing for brunettes... escpecially ones that wear glasses.... but, hey, that's just how I'm wired... damn..."raven tress"... get's me revved each time I read it...

She Walks in Beauty by Lord George Gordon Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Byron was certainly an effete, but that's the gig that gets you laid ten times more than a muscle boy. Well, the beautiful writing doesn't hurt, either. How nice to be able to whisper your own classic poetry in a woman's ear as opposed, to, say, Freddy Mercury lyrics.

Long live Lord Byron.
