A Sad Day...

...what is this world coming to?.... evidently, this would have been a crime even behind closed doors... man, that is just depressing....

"NEWPORT NEWS - A Newport News woman charged with a felony for receiving oral sex in a car is challenging a state law that prohibits certain types of sex between consenting adults.

A police officer says he found the 21-year-old woman in a parked car receiving oral sex from a man about 3 a.m. Jan. 29. Both were charged with a felony under the statute for crimes against nature. "

What kind of "crime against nature" is oral sex? It seems perfectly natural to me.

I find this terribly funny, as it's relevant to something that happened the other night.

Our upstairs neighbor has a live-in boyfriend, but still seems to have a plethora of various men coming in and out of her apartment at odd hours of the day. So we figure she's either dealing drugs (not likely) or is just a big ol Ho. Mind you, there are lots of repeat visitors, and we DO hear lots of... er... bumping around up there.

So the other night, my boyfriend was running out to the store to pick up something I needed to make dinner. He's been gone barely a minute when he calls, cracking up.

There was a strange white car (I mean strange in that we'd never seen it before) parked next to him as he walked outside. He got in his car, and as he was starting it, looked over into the car next to him. There was a man in the driver's seat looking right at him, and then a head peeked up from his lap - it was our upstairs neighbor! She looked at him, then proceded to go back to what she was doing.

I guess this sort of thing is NOT illegal in Florida.

I hope not anyway!

Good grief, so you can't perform oral sex in Virginia? I always knew that was a fucked up state, but this only makes it that much clearer. Remind me NEVER to move there, at least not willingly.

Acidman - Nothing wrong with wanting to get your point across, i.e. the double post. LOL. (And I agree with you totally)

Nee - ROFL!!!!!!!! No kidding. Makes me proud to be from Florida. *snort*

I can't wait to read Justice Scalia and Justice Thomas' joint dissenting opinion when this reaches the Supreme Court. There should be MORE crimes against nature! Not fewer!

Jebus, how ridiculous. I loved this quote:

""Had Virginia's legislators clarified the law that it only be toward acts in public, there would be no gray area," Willis said. "Now, it is not clear what judges will do. Some will say it is half unconstitutional. Others may say it is entirely unconstitutional." "

Obviously none of these people want to touch this with a ten foot pole for fear of offending one side or another.

If...If...If.... now IANAL, but it seems clear to me that the statute, as it stands now, is clearly unconstitutional. It should be struck down and rewritten (or perhaps not rewritten at all, there are already laws against public "indecency" (lol!)), and the charges in this case dismissed entirely.

These judges have their heads so far up their asses they should be charged under the sodomy provision. What a bunch of pussies (no pun intended)

(thanks for the link to this one, Acidman; got my blood pressure up :)
